There Was An Old Lady

There was an old lady who swallowed a fly

I don't know why she swallowed a fly - perhaps she'll die!

There was an old lady who swallowed a spider,

That wriggled and wiggled and tiggled inside her;

She swallowed the spider to catch the fly;

I don't know why she swallowed a fly - Perhaps she'll die!

There was an old lady who swallowed a bird;

How absurd to swallow a bird.

She swallowed the bird to catch the spider,

She swallowed the spider to catch the fly;

There was an old lady who swallowed a cat;

Fancy that to swallow a cat!

She swallowed the cat to catch the bird,

There was an old lady that swallowed a dog;

What a hog, to swallow a dog;

She swallowed the dog to catch the cat,

2009 Summer Class Composition

Title: My Autobiography

Hello! My name is Yi Gin Chung. The word Gin means jade in Chinese. My mother and my father named it. My parents named it like this because they wanted me to become smart and beautiful. I like my name very much.

There are 42 people in my family. I live with my mother, my father and my brother. I like my brother the most because he teaches me how to play piano. Also, my family goes to Japan once a year. We usually take so many beautiful pictures there. I like my family so much.

At school, Karen and Candy are my best friends. We play hide-and-seek together everyday. One day, I forgot to bring my color pen, and I borrowed it from Karen. One another day, Candy forgot to bring her pencil box, she borrowed pencils and an eraser from me. We are friends because we always play together and help each other.

I am a girl but I don’t have long hair. Also, I don’t like to wear dresses or play with Barbie, maybe it is because of the fact I only have an older brother to play with. One thing I like to do is to play sports, and my favorite sports are swimming and table tennis. Sometimes I will play baseball or basketball. I like to play sport because I can stay healthy, and I can run and jump. I wish I can be an athlete that play table tennis well and win many prizes. I like who I am.

My name is Pei-Yi Wu. The word “Pei” means smart and “Yi” means dignified. My parents named it for me. They named it like this because they wanted me to be smart and to have good luck. I like my name very much without any reason!

There are 40 people in my family. We have 2 turtles, 1 dog and a group of fish. I live with my mother, father and my brother. I like my mother the most because my mother always buys many toys and cute things for me. However, my father always disagrees because we spend too much money. I also like my aunt! Because she often takes me to many interesting places or movies. One special thing about my family is that when we get to 15 years old, our aunt will become godmother. One of my family’s greatest memories is the trip of taking a boat called “Star Cruise”. That was a lo of fun, but I had seasick during this trip. We went to Okinawa. We ate ramen and bought many interesting things. I will always remember this family trip!

At school, I have many friends. They are funny, smart and humorous. One of my friends is Amy. I met her at kindergarten, we met each other again in Grade 1. When we had the same swimming class, we wore the same swimming suit with the same color. If we play together, someone may ask, “Are you sisters?”. We look almost the same. However, sometimes we will be mad at each other, then both of us will be very sad. There is one special thing about Amy, her voice sounds like a boy. Also, she does not play with girls’ stuff. We are good friends because we always do the same things at the same time. Although she has left ABC English School because she doesn’t have time, we are still friends forever!

I am lively and generous. My mom and my dad taught me to be like this because they believe we need to be kind not to be mean. But sometimes I am obstinate, they will be mad at me. I have read a book before and this book taught me to be like this, too! My parents tell me that if you are obstinate, you can not do anything in your life. Therefore, from now on I will never be obstinate in my life and I will not make my parents upset.

天母國小 張朝睿

我有許多壞習慣，像是我因為很懶惰，所以同學都覺得我怪怪的。

雖然我很懶惰，但是我也有不錯的地方，那就是我會幫媽媽做家事，有一次，我還幫媽媽搥背呢！我媽媽對我說謝謝，我好高興。

壞習慣我會改過，優點我會一直保持下去。

我有許多壞習慣，像是考試粗心都考九十幾分。

雖然我考試都九十幾分，但是我也有不錯的地方，那就是自己刷牙，每一次我一定會自己刷牙，所以我的牙齒很健康。

我覺得我應該要改掉我的壞習慣，然後維持自己的優點，才會考一百分。

我有許多壞習怪，像是動不動就會生氣，所以有時候同學會不理我，而且我考試時有時候會粗心，我一定要改過這些壞習慣。

雖然我有那麼多個壞習怪，但是我也有不錯的地方喔！那就是我會常常幫助別人，有一次，有人在大操場玩遊戲時不小心跌倒受傷了，我就帶他到健康中心；如果有人數學作業不會寫，我就會主動的去幫助他。我還喜歡看書、畫畫，美勞課時，老師還讚美我呢！而且，我還是老師的小幫手，有任何的問題，我都會主動幫忙老師，所以，我也有很多的優點喔！

我覺得我們應該繼續保持我們的優點，至於我們的壞習慣一定要快點改進，你才會變成一個人見人愛的小朋友喔！

我有許多壞習慣，像是我在考試的時候，常常粗心大意，明明可以考一百分，可是卻常常沒看清楚題目就作答，所以，媽媽老是因為我而生氣得不得了，也造成我常常愛比較。

雖然我有很壞的習慣，但是我也有不錯的地方，那就是熱心助人，有一次，我們去自來水博物館，當我們往上走時，到了一個有很多水管的地方，當我們玩到一半時，卉婷不小心跌倒了，結果原本受過傷的地方，因為跌到就流血了，於是我請別人一起扶他去找老師，請老師幫忙。

缺點雖然不能被優點蓋住，但我可以繼續發現自己以前並沒有發現的優點，並讓缺點消失，這樣就能變得更好。

我有許多壞習慣，像是考試時粗心大意，所以每一次我明明能考一百分，可是卻只拿到九十分，回家後又被罵，所以以後一定要檢查。

雖然我有很多壞習慣，但是我也有不錯的地方，那就是我很會游泳，上個禮拜我去參加奧林匹克游泳比賽，那天有許多人參加，我的游泳老師卻告訴我不要擔心，只要盡全力去比就好，結果我的自由式拿到三十六秒，而仰式拿到四十二秒，分別得到第二十七名和第三十六名呢！

雖然我有許多優點，也有許許多多的缺點，但我一定得去克服，像考試粗心大意，那就一定得檢查三遍再交卷，還有考試前多多複習，這樣考試就能考得更好，也達到爸爸媽媽，以及老師們得要求，這樣人生一定會更生動更有趣！

我的許多壞習慣，像是愛講話，所以我常常被老師罵。

雖然我有愛講話的缺點，但是我也有很不錯的地方，那就是很有愛心。有一次我在路上看到一隻兔子的腳受傷了，一開始我不知如何幫兔子包紮，可是看他可愛的眼神，我覺得我好軟弱，突然我靈機一動，想起還有動物醫院，所以我就用我最快的速度跑到動物醫院，把兔子送到那兒，可是已經無藥可救了，我哭了一天一夜，一直為我的疏忽感到難過。

我一定要改正我的缺點，並且優點要保持下去。

我有一些缺點，像是考試時我會粗心大意，本來可以考滿分卻考了不好的分數。

雖然我有這個缺點，但是我也有不錯的地方，像是會幫媽媽分擔工作，例如煮飯、洗衣服、掃地。有一次媽媽出國，洗衣服、摺衣服、煮飯、掃地、拖地等工作都是我在做的，媽媽回來時還大大的誇讚我呢！讓我立志以後一定幫媽媽更多的忙，不會故意不做事，老師也會誇獎我好會做事。

我有許多壞習慣，像是上課不專心、愛講話，所以我老是被老師罵。

雖然我壞習慣非常多，讓老師們都認為我是個壞小孩，但是我也有不錯的地方，那就是愛運動，會幫爸爸、媽媽和老師做事，會自己起床，部會讓爸媽操心，熱心助人；和朋友有難同當，有福同享；陪爺爺聊天。有一次，我朋友受傷了，我二話不說就扶他到保健室，當他行動不便時，我會幫他拿書，減輕他的負擔，當他身體不舒服時，我會打電話到他家關心慰問。

我覺得如果要改進我的缺點的話，首先，我上課要專心，然後話要少一點，並且增加我的優點，才能讓自己愈來愈棒。
