Monthly Letter from Ms. Maliha



Dear Parents,
We have had a wonderful month and we are finishing our Unit 2.
This unit was all about working together and sharing. We read some great stories to clearly understand the true meaning of working together. To bring our theme all together, the kids are working jointly on a poster. It’s a class project in which the kids had to come up with a group that they can advertise about in the form of a poster. They all decided to form a Book Club. This was not only fun for them but they also developed the knowledge and importance of advertisement and proper straits of writing.

We study science and social studies topics together and incorporate Language Arts as well. So, if they are working on a certain topic, not only are they learning characteristics that the idea features, but, they are also applying grammar skills, mechanics (spelling and punctuation), reading and comprehension and word study.


Students take part in a number of topics that include hands-on study and cover big ideas. Thematic study also enables students to focus and understand one theme rather than getting overwhelmed with a bunch of ideas.

This month the students have mastered the words with controlled r and right now are working on long a: ai and ay vowel sounds.
In Grammar, they are trying to understand the use of singular and plural nouns and how some nouns change spelling when used as a plural. They have also perfected the use of contractions.

And thank you so much for sending in those wonderful dictionaries so quickly. The kids use them every day as we do our word study lessons. They have learnt to use the guide words to help them find a word and see how that word has different grammatical functions and applications. It is a great tool to have in their learning path.

Our next group project will be working together on a class book.
This will be head start as we proceed towards our next unit which is about Exploration. I will send in details of this project as soon as we get a start on it. We will also be taking a field trip to further extend our knowledge of exploring things and places.

親愛的家長與小朋友,

時間飛逝Time flies~
九月一眨眼就過去了!
迎接我們的是光輝的十月
10月6日(五)中秋節
10月10日(二)國慶日
皆為國定假日!所以小朋友可以好好的放鬆一下心情
到戶外和家長一起過節!

不過...在放假前,小朋友還是要辛苦一下囉!
因為ABC English School各班將在下禮拜
10月2日(一)~10月6日(五) 一周內舉行Monthly Test
希望小朋友們能提前複習考試範圍
並祝大家都能考到好成績
