07' Fall

Sincerely yours,

Jane Liu

Dear parents,

I had been concerned with the students progress as of late as I feel that they could be doing a little better in their school work. I believe it comes down to the fact that there is too little time spent each week on English studies. I approached Jane with the idea of potentially having the students come for more classes each week. She agreed with this but informed me that they have little time left in their busy schedules to be able to have one or two more classes in the week, there just wasn’t the time. We discussed this a little further and came to the conclusion that the majority of the students are here for the hours needed, but are in the conversation and composition classes. So we decided to forgo those two classes and instead have grade 2 and grade 3 students to join their regular classmates on Wednesdays also. I believe this extra time each week could be put to good use by encouraging more of the basics of the language such as learning more writing and speaking skills. But more than anything, it would give us more time to concentrate on our curriculum. I really feel that the students have accomplished something with our new
materials, now all we need is just a little more time to focus on them. I also believe it would give your children that extra edge they need on their way to becoming fluent English speakers.

With that in mind, should you have any concerns or questions of your own, please know that you can contact me any time. I would be happy to help!

Sincerely,
John G.
